Application Process

Application to the guild, begins HERE on the site.

We are a mature-themed guild. As such, we have an application process that helps ensure under-age people, and people who do not care about role-play (as we do), do NOT get in.

As you know, we take role-play very seriously.  The devil is in the details.

Understand as soon as you begin the application process, we WILL start calling attention to such details in your role-play.  We are NOT doing it to be mean, or disrespectful.  We are doing it to improve the realism and quality of the role play.  This is a valuable ongoing learning experience.

It is part of the application process.  It is NOT recommended your character show IC interest in the guild until YOU the player are comfortable with the guild's role play style.

It is strongly recommended your character get to know as many members as possible (as well as you, knowing the players.) Getting to know them doesn't mean whispering them once IC and that's it. Getting to know them means meet with them IC a couple of times at least doing various things. Helping on quests, shootin the sh*t in a tavern etc. Bonding. These people are gonna potentially be your chars new family.

Additionally, you need to be posting here on the site. Your character's description, history (if you want, * this isn't mandatory (unless it is) as well as some RP stories or whatever you like. As using the site is part of the guild, it's important people demonstrate they are comfortable doing this before we even consider you for joining.

Application Breakdown

• FIRST, before anything else, post your character's description on the site
  A (detailed) character description.   Really, be sure you've covered all the glowing details and made one kick ass description for your dear character!  If you need help, don't be shy to ask.  We would be happy to help you.
  
  (A history would be wonderful too, but it is not required) under The World of Tamriel section, HERE Details make us happy. The background (history) shows you took time to get to know your character. Please note: any fantastical characters will not be accepted. We want to encourage role-play- but within the realm of reason.
  
  
• Second, join an RP story that's under way or start one of your own, and KEEP ACTIVE IN IT. - This will prove if you are able to visit the site and keep up to date on things. This will be important if you become a member.
  
  If you are shy about starting an RP thread or joining one, start a Character Diary. Write in it as often as you can. Before engaging in RP with us in game, please keep an active character diary. It is a great way to be active on the site and keep a record of what your char is doing in their life. 
  
  We want to see you know your character well enough to be able to express their innermost thoughts, how they view the world, and what they are doing each day. Keep in mind, 'character diaries' are not to be taken as IC fodder for anyone else reading without explicit permission from the poster.
  
  
• Contact a member in game, either ICly (if your char heard about us somehow- which may be a stretch so check with us OOC first how your character may have done so), or OOCly, and explain who you are and what you'd like to do. We are a small guild.  This isn't the kind of guild where you join and no one knows you.  Take the time to at least create a professional relationship with the people you are going to be playing with.  Please note - the Cat may be busy- if this is the case don't be discouraged, try again later and or post again on the site.

• Get some RP happening in game, once you have made a presence for yourself through posting here and OOC conversation with people.  We are happy to try and write your character in as a new story line event which could be almost anything, you may have read an RP hook from another character you liked and wanted to use and or we can just arrange a random run in and start the RP from there.
  
  
• Rinse, and repeat. Due to the circumstances, both IC and OOC, getting in will take a lot less time. But we will not shirk on quality, and we are not desperate for members. Wait time may be as long as a couple of weeks, possibly a lot less depending on what story you are riding in with, and how well you have shown you know your character.
  
  
• Somewhere in all this, remember to send in an Application Form. Ideally, however, NOT before you have been active on the site (at least) via an RP thread and of course having posted your character's description.

We are the RP elite. If you want to get in, it's because you are a passionate role-player that truly cares about role-playing...not someone who is just trying to get in on a whim. There are many other RP guilds out there who do not have the same standards. If we are too much for you, you may wish to try your luck with one of them, by all means!  Know that even though we may not be the guild for you, there are no hard feelings, and we would still love to RP with you.

**PLEASE NOTE**

Do NOT register on the site, until you have been asked to do so. Otherwise, you will be denied. Membership is for MEMBERS of the guild only, and certified Potentials. You can post as a -guest- until then.

It is up to YOU as the applicant to ensure your character gets known. Both IC, and OOC to a degree.

 Also, be sure to make an effort to get to know the other players in the guild.  They are a wealth of information and help if you need it.  Of course, if you have questions, do NOT be shy to utilize the site.  If you are only waiting for me in particular, you could be waiting a long time, as my times in game can be chaotic and sporadic.

The Cheshire Cats promote and support role-play. We would love to offer players interested in joining us a creative way into getting to know our characters and getting into the guild.
