The family line of Vhosri is well known through Hammerfell, and often synonymous with maritime trade, shipbuilding, fishing and navigation. In just about every port of call along the Abecean in Redguard lands, a member of this brood can be found in a position of influence. It's often said that "To take the Sea away from a Vhosri is to steal their life's breath".
So naturally, when young Sathem came of age, he enlisted in the Naval Forces of Hegathe to do justice to his family legacy. The sea called to him just as strongly as the rest of his kin, and he quickly excelled at all matters of maritime warfare. However, after nearly two decades of loyal service to the defense of Hammerfell, he now finds himself stripped of command of his vessel, the pirate hunting Basilisk, relieved of his crew, and discharged dishonorably under charges of suspected corruption.
Despite his own innocence for these charges, he was framed for the very plot he was investigating to bring to light. Now his kin have disowned him, and denied him work on any ship heading out of what is considered a "Civilized" port, and he has been landlocked, wandering the coast in search of odd jobs for a seasoned swordarm.
But those who had sought to remove him from their machinations forgot one thing. You can't keep a Vhosri from the seas. He has sworn before his gods and ancestors to find the truth about the corruption in Hegathe, restore his good name, and once more captain a ship of his own.
However long it may take.
