Or, at least, dress for the occasion/situation.
i won't lie, i LOVE costumes, or the simple non-level RP clothes you can get for free. There are so many options out there, it only makes sense to USE them appropriately when the need arises. (And i just don't mean for a fancy date)
In this case, i'm talking about dressing to be conscientious about the weather. Taking your RP details to another, higher level.
Example, there are some COLD places in Tamriel. Wouldn't make sense to be running around half dressed, or even likely dressed in just your regular clothes (in many cases, although some could still work).
Have some fun, and add in some weather-related attire. Clothing for the cold, for the desert (and face/eye protection from sand storms), etc. Additionally, make use of different hairstyles, face paint etc.
The PERFECT addon to pair with this is, Alpha Gear 2 i use it, and can say, it's great! You can only create profiles with costumes, however, that is the only downside. Only one that i've seen!
Alternatively, you can spring for an Outfit Token, which will allow you to make a whole new outfit based on all the motifs you have collected in game. Many of which have fur in the design, making them great for cold weather and the like.
So, save them crowns or get an outfit token or two, and use them for the perfect RP attire for every world situation. OR, if you're poor like me, just make do with the free costumes they have available in game. There are many that you can recolor to look the part.
Some FREE (aside from spending gold maybe) clothing in game that would help you dress for RP success includes, but is not limited to:
Colovian Filigreed Hood and the Colovian Fur Hood. This hat can be found in New Life Gift Boxes during the New Life Festival. It comes inside a Runebox: Colovian (Filigreed/Fur) Hood item, which can be traded with other players even after the event ends. (And found in trade guilds)
Oblivion Explorer's Headwrap. This is a free item, available by completing Welcome to Fargrave, an achievement awarded for entering the Deadlands for the first time. It matches the Oblivion Explorer Garb. A great hat for wearing ijn the desert when those sand storms become a bit much.
Werewolf Hunter Hat- The Werewolf Hunter Hat is FREE, and is acquired by entering either Moon Hunter Keep or March of Sacrifices for the first time. Great for when it suddenly starts to rain.
Here is a link that also shares all the FREE costumes, styles and hats you can get.
Free Clothing
Don't forget PERSONALITIES, either!
While there are some you can purchase with crowns, there are some free ones as well.
Free personalities
Personalities help add even more flavor to an RP scene. If your character is mad, sad, etc, there is a personality to help with that!
Hairstyles and or face paint/markings, adornments etc can also play a heavy part in RP.
They come on sale sometimes, however, it is a great idea to spring for the multi packs in the crown store that are always available. You get ALL the styles available to you that were available at character creation.
